Event description

Join us for a series of exciting new student works, written, performed and put together entirely by students!

We have 6 fantastic shows, running on a varied schedule across our 5 night run.

featuring

Lead written by Eliza Hoh, directed by Katherine Vu

David is a middle-aged sales consultant at a multivitamin company. He’s ready for a promotion, for more responsibility, and he wants to prove himself to his boss. David wants to be known as ‘the guy that wrote that huge cheque’, or ‘the man who signed that important deal’. There’s one small issue though: David never got his pen licence.

Homo Homini Lupus written by Jack Batchelor, directed by Eliza Jones

Southview College, a prestigious boys boarding school. Luke, a new student, moves into his dormitory, being thrown into a culture of masculinity, ignorance and power. After being swept up by a group of boys including domineering and violent ring-leader John, second-in-command Christian whose only goal is to not be one of John’s victims and sharp-witted and strong Berki, Luke is exposed to a new world of mischief. When John gets word of girls potentially being able to be enrolled in the school, all threads come undone, the legacy is questioned and Luke knows he must do something.

Jinx written by Bora Celebi, directed by Lily Carter

Two close friends are brought together after a mutual acquaintance's wellbeing is brought to question. As they discuss what may have happened, revelations come out which test the very fabric of trust between Jayce and Bruce.

‘Jinx’ is a compelling study of how trust is earned, kept or betrayed between two friends.

Royal Blood Stains the Bowl written by Ella Vanderzwan, directed by Astra Milne (ast. Miah Tito-Barratt)

Set in the mythical kingdom of Bavia, and showcasing the family dynamics of Queen Elasha and her two children; Crown Prince Arnik and daughter Keira, Royal Blood Stains the Bowl is a story about treachery, revenge and strong family dynamics. Keira cannot stand that her evil older brother Arnik will be taking over the throne once her mother retires, so she hatches a plan to ensure that this will not occur. Will she succeed? Or will knowledge and secrets that bind this ‘close-knit family’ come back to light. ‘Some people just can’t hold their arsenic.’ .

The Disease of Anger written and directed by Jasmin Schofield

Jane is struggling in her relationship with girlfriend Adrienne as she faces considerable anxiety surrounding her sick Father. Jane faces pressure to go and visit him but finds she is unable to forgive his mistreatment of her as a child. Adrienne ultimately recommends she sees her friend Misty, a self proclaimed, 'grief expert'. From this encounter, Jane is able to reconcile her own feelings towards her Dad and finally visits him.

The Fine Art of Persuasion written and directed by George Tsakiris

Set at the beginning of the Great Depression. During one of their shifts, two young Bronx newspaper salesmen read an article claiming that the print media will shut down. When they realise their jobs and livelihoods are threatened, they engage in a thoughtful yet precarious conversation about how they’ll navigate their inevitably bleak futures.
