Who Will Be Crowned the Master of Meats?

We’ve heard your brags. We’ve heard your boisterous comments about your carnivorous culinary skills. And now, we’re putting your meats where our mouths are, to find out who will become champion! Who has what it takes to reign supreme during the inaugural NWIBRT Smoke-Off/Cook Off?

During this special event, competitors will get to show off their grill or meat smoking mastery. We’ll be under the pavilion, out of the sun or rain, at the beautiful Bulldog Park in Crown Point.

Only the best of the best will take home the grand prize! A trophy that will instill envy in all who gaze upon it! The winner will get to keep this sacred chalice for the entire year and show all their colleagues who’s the king of outdoor cuisine. We’re talking eternal glory here, seared forever.

Event Details:

Date: Tuesday, July 23rd.
Time: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Participant judging: 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.. Winner announced: 4:00 p.m. Social Time 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Bulldog Park, Crown Point.

Entry Information:

$250.00 which includes two admission tickets to event.

Competition Guidelines:
  • Choose the best mouth-watering recipe that you have. Each attendee will receive an approximate 1 oz. portion of your deliciousness for them to judge.
  • Competitors can bring food already prepared or may arrive as early as 9 a.m. to start cooking. We recommend bringing pre-cooked items to warm up and serve at the event.
  • Grills and smokers are allowed onsite, but they are required to have something beneath them to catch any spills or grease.
  • Smoke and cook your best meat dishes. Hand out samples for attendees to taste and vote for their favorites.
  • For hot entrees, we will provide one chaffing holder with 2 sternos to keep your food at the required temperature of 140 degrees for serving. Don’t worry, we will make it easy for you and have a designated person to check the temp of your food.
  • For cold entrees, you will need to provide ice to keep food at 40 degrees or less.
  • We will provide each competitor two tables to prep and serve, tasting cups, forks and napkins. Any utensils that you need may need including knives, cutting boards, etc. will need to be brought by the competitor.

  • The winner will receive bragging rights and a coveted traveling trophy.
