Two Bit Movie Club - Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds

Join us for a journey through time and space as we visit a terrifying world where Martians have taken control of the Earth and prog rock is still king. A staple of uncle’s record collections Australia-wide, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds is a 1977 adaptation of the HG Wells scifi classic, narrated by Richard Burton and chock-full of strangely compelling riffs and vintage synthesiser beeps and boops. We’ll be listening to this masterpiece in full while watching visual accompaniment pulled together from classic, cult and trash movies and television, because just sitting in a room full of strangers listening to an album together would probably be pretty weird.
