Enjoy an evening of Afrobeat, Ska, Jazz and Reggae sounds, woodfire pizza and a picturesque rustic setting as 9 piece band NYASH! hosts this accessible, family-friendly event where you and your friends can enjoy local music and food, mingle and create new community connections at Cafe Stepping Stone in Ginninderry!

As the sun sets over the Brindabella Ranges you'll be treated to the sweet warm sounds of brass and bass wafting over a bed of skanking guitars and hypnotic percussion from NYASH! while you enjoy your woodfire pizza and other food from Cafe Stepping Stone - whose community driven vegetarian kitchen has an emphasis on locally grown produce.

The outdoor area hosts beautiful views of the Brindabella mountains in a rustic rural setting - perfect for a summer evening of good company and live music. The grassed area is spacious enough to enable a close sitting to the music, or something more distant should people need more quiet.

PRE-BUY YOUR FOOD when you buy your ticket - and pick up your meal during one of the two "pick up" times. Cafe Stepping Stone will have their Woodfire Pizza oven in full operation along with a licensed bar.

NYASH! will be performing two sets (~5:50pm and ~7pm) and will be supported by Lucky Jim who will open with a short set at 5:20pm.

NYASH! are Canberra's very own enclave of Afrobeat + Ska + Reggae sounds. Expect the Afro-Funk of Nigeria's Fela Kuti mixed with feel good Jamaican Skatalites vibes and Ethio-Jazz grooves.

Originally formed in 2012 by Nicholas Combe and Simon Milman - two stalwarts of the local jazz and reggae scene in Canberra - the band recorded their debut EP in the same year and played around the ACT and South Coast before both Nicholas and Simon moved overseas - one to Jogyakarta and one to Buenos Aires. 7 years later and back in their hometown - the band has reformed with original members and some great new additions.
This NYASH! V.2 is blessed with the musical wizardry of members of Zambezi Sounds, Los Chavos, Dub Dub Goose, Dubba Rukki and The Ellis Collective - From West Belconnen to West Africa and beyond, this musical collective will keep your nyash shaking!
