    Event description

The NYC Master Chorale is proud to present our final concert of the 2023-2024 season, Evening's Empire: A Musical Exploration of Night. This nighttime themed program includes pieces dating from the Portuguese Renaissance through a new world premiere NYC Master Chorale commission by composer Tara Mack, which sets text from the 2012 children's book "Nighttime Ninja," by Barbara DaCosta with art by Ed Young. We are also thrilled to be collaborating with the remarkable marimbist Makoto Nakura on Peter Klatzow's "Return of the Moon," and to be sharing a number of other works both for choir and for soloist and piano. Evening's Empire evokes the full range of nighttime, exploring darkness, sleep, fantasy, mystery, spirituality, love, nature, magic, remembrance, and daybreak.

Join us at Adler Hall on May 18th to journey through music from evening through night to dawn.

As always, NYC Master Chorale concerts are open to all people and all ages, including children. Tickets for those under 18 are free (but must be reserved) and tickets for adults are available on a sliding scale. Please email us at info@nycmasterchorale.org with any questions and to register for youth tickets. All are welcome.
