Come and join us at the Topology Creative Hub for World Nyckelharpa Day, on the 26th of April!

We welcome you to come and enjoy the unique, beautiful sounds of Sweden’s National Instrument, the Nyckelharpa. This concert will feature a range of Swedish and Scandinavian Folk music performed by members of the Nyckelharpa Society comprised of Sue Ferrers, Swedish musician Rebecca Karlen, Emma Nixon, Lisa Stevenson and also guest performer Evan Clarry.

During this beautiful concert, you will also learn about the history and construction of this incredible instrument and different playing styles.

The Swedish artist Annica Malmkvist will have her beautiful artwork featured at the Topology Creative Hub for this special event.

This concert features two 40min long sets with an interval that will allow for guests to also enjoy a tea/coffee and Swedish style ‘fika’ (‘Fika’ is more than a coffee and cake break, and holds a much deeper cultural significance in Sweden. It’s the act of slowing down, connecting with others and bringing people together). There will be complimentary tea and coffee and Swedish cakes/patisseries available by donation,
