SATURDAY | 8 AUGUST | 10 AM - 4 PM | All levels welcome

Create a finished painting of a silvereye/tauhou set among a floral display in this foundational workshop.

Build a practical understanding of watercolour techniques, colour mixing and layering. This workshop is ideal for beginners who are scared to start, as well as developing artists wanting to strengthen core painting skills.

Across the day, you'll explore watercolour control, colour mixing, washes and layering while creating an original bird and floral artwork inspired by New Zealand's native wildlife.

The focus is on developing both technical skills and helping you find your own personal style. Move beyond step-by-step copying into understanding how paintings are constructed.

No drawing skills required. Kasia will guide you through every step.

Kasia Hebda is a Polish-born artist, designer and art conservator based in Queenstown, New Zealand.

She has over 20 years of painting experience, with a background spanning fine art, design, and conservation practice. Kasia has also created a number of murals in both Poland and Queenstown.

Working from her studio at Country Lane, she is known for her signature watercolour courses and workshops that combine technical skill with close observation and creative development. Strongly inspired by New Zealand nature, it's her constant source of inspiration for her own art.

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with other creatives. Her teaching focuses on slowing down, building confidence, and developing your own artistic voice rather than following a fixed style.
