Description

NZ Photographers of Cultural Collections is a group of photographers and imaging professionals working across Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums across Aotearoa. We photograph cultural collections from paintings through to scientific specimens, and from intangible culture, through flat copy digitisation to 3D scanning.

The forum is a chance to share knowledge and build professional networks. It provides valuable professional development that is otherwise hard to come by for this specialised field. We specifically aim to help smaller institutions by democratising specialist knowledge and building a network of support across the country. This year we have hybrid capability, and welcome physical event (paid) online-only (free) registrations.

This event relies on volunteers and institutional support. Thanks to Te Papa Tongarewa for donating the venue and kaimahi time, and National Services Te Paerangi for funding and administrative support and additional travel support for eligible attendees. Kaimahi from NZ maritime Museum, Auckland University of Technology, Auckland City Libraries, Puke Ariki and Archives NZ/National Library have collaborated to organise the event this year.

These contributions help keep costs down, the physical registration fee will help to cover a venue set up fee and a catered morning tea and lunch for in-person attendees.

Online attendees will receive an email with the zoom link closer to the date.

We intend to record the event via zoom. If we decide to distribute recordings in any form, we will seek the permission of speakers before doing so.

We'll be closing registrations for in-person attendees at 4pm Friday 6th Nov.

We have an online network here: https://groups.io/g/NZPCC
