Oatlands Highland Gathering / Tasmanian Pipe Band Championships 2026

The Tasmanian Pipe Band Championships return to Oatlands.

The Oatlands Highland Gathering is taking place in Oatlands on March 21st 2026.

Free entry and a great day for the entire family.

Run in association with Callington Mill Distillery and Southern Midlands Council.

Bands will take part in competition elements as well as give performance recitals on the day. 

Individual Band Competition Elements:

• Street March

• Selection of Marches

• Medley

• MSR

• LAQ

• Best Dressed

• Best Drill

The $50 charge is per each individually entered band in each element entered.

Only entry charges for SOM, MSR, and Medley.

Entry Deadline - Monday 09th March 2026

Adjudication for Best Dress and Best Drill (March Off) will take place for bands during the Selection of Marches element.

Social Evening
After the competition, we invite players and family members to gather upstairs in the Coq N' Bull, Launceston for a social get together.

Sunday PBT Workshop

Join us on Sunday for a workshop session. Hosted by Pipe Bands Tasmania and delivered by adjudicators Andrew Womersley and Mark McKenzie.

Different areas of piping, drumming, and ensemble will be discussed on the day.

Venue: Scotch Oakburn College, Performance Arts Building, 85 Penquite Road, Launceston
Time: 9:30 am - Morning Tea and Coffee
