Oberon Field to Forest - Forestry, Truffles, Mushrooms and Foraging Talk
Event description
This is a rare opportunity to learn about our forests from a National Parks Ranger for the do's and don'ts in the forest and how best to enjoy them, a forager who has taken the ancient skills that he himself has learned, and now teaches others mushrooming and foraging in our local pine forests. Learn about the history behind foraging and how we relate to this culturally. We also have a truffle producer and his dog to talk about the process of producing these diamonds from the soil and the trees from which they grow. Our truffle hunter is also a forester and will talk about the process of growing and harvesting the pine trees that support this ecosystem.
