Event description

Pinch and a punch for the first rave of the month 🎭

Oblique & Addition By Subtraction present April Fools Day with James Andrew and B.Love, two of the UK’s very own rising stars. We’re heading back to the Portugal Maderia Club this April 1 for a day party packed with serious heat.

Hotly-tipped producer, avid selector, and co-founder of Nothing But Nice, James Andrew’s consistently unburdened output is just as energetic as his demeanour. With releases across labels such as The Sound of Limo, Subsequent and Small Hours, his four head-turning EPs have secured his sound as a mainstay in the nouveau tech-house resistance. We’re stoked to have him closing down our second edition before he’s snatched up for the UK summer to take on Dimensions Festival, Dusty Flyers and more. Our own little slice of Nothing But Nice right here in Sydney – don’t miss it.

Not to be outdone, it’s a very big pleasure of ours to welcome Bizarre Trax’s B.Love to the party. B.Love’s knack for wonked-out grooves, funk-infused flavours and quirky sampled beats have seen him cement himself as a rapidly developing talent on the European circuit, including Croatia’s ION Festival, Junction 2 and Gottwood. His releases on his own Bizarre Trax and Coastal Haze have seen his output bouncing floors the world over, and this time he brings his goody-bag to the Southern Hemisphere. B.steady, b.ready, b.love, baby!

We also (of course!) have our faithful residents Ben Bracken, Lucy B, Bonus DubJason Spyrides and Jethro Fox laying down the foundations. Plus, fresh-face Jazzup brings her selections to the Portugal Madeira Club for the first time.

April 1, 2-10pm, Marrickville Open Air (fully covered!)

Don’t be a fool, lock yourself in – early birds on sale now.
