Ocean Action Pod at La Perouse - CANCELLED!
Event description
NO BOOKINGS REQUIRED
Learn how to take action on marine plastic pollution at the Ocean Action Pod... a pop-up multimedia educational experience for adults and children.
Find multiple display plinths showcasing common plastic debris items with playful ‘species’ names, valuable resources and information on solutions and kid-friendly activities.
Every year more than six million tonnes of rubbish is dumped into the world’s oceans, 80 per cent of which is plastic, and a further 10 per cent of these items are plastic bags.
Australians throw away about 7,150 recyclable plastic bags a minute, with 429,000 recyclable plastic supermarket bags dumped into landfill every hour. What's going on?
Did you know the NSW Government has banned plastic bags and has plans to ban more plastic items in the future so we can keep our beaches clean and our marine life safe.
Come along to the Ocean Action Pod on Wednesday 24 January and learn the latest information on ocean plastic pollution, what items are banned and how to take action!
