Join us for Earth Protectors, a powerful documentary by renowned environmental artist Anne de Carbuccia. Over the past decade, Anne has captured the human-driven threats to our planet—drought, plastic oceans, species extinction, and cultural loss—through captivating art and storytelling. This film introduces a new generation of changemakers dedicated to preserving our world for future generations.

From the marine biologist defending Italy’s coastal ecosystems to the humanitarian protecting Himalayan glaciers, these inspiring young activists are rewriting the narrative of our planet’s future. Among them is Sophia, also known as PlasticFreeSophia, a youth change-maker who, at 14, mobilised over 12,000 signatures to ban plastic bags in New South Wales, leading to successful legislation. Her efforts earned her accolades from Surfrider Australia and Australian Geographic, as well as the Young Conservationist award presented by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

We’re excited to have Sophia as a guest speaker at the screening, where she will share her journey and vision for a sustainable future. To close the event, Sydney-based wellness practitioner Destiny Wolf will guide a meditation, drawing on her expertise in yoga, mindfulness, and sound healing to foster connection and reflection.

Featuring stories from the Amazon, Siberia, California, and Nepal, Earth Protectors unites passionate voices advocating for urgent action in the Anthropocene - the era shaped by human impact. Supported by groundbreaking research and awe-inspiring art, this film is a call to action to protect the world we love.
