OCEAN LOVERS TALKS - Extreme sailing for science: using one woman's challenge to inspire positive action

Join Natasha Mitchell, host of Radio National Big Ideas in a fireside chat with Jodi Edwards whose work inspires and educates audiences worldwide, contributing to a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture and knowledge systems.
In her latest research, Jodi documents the symbiotic relationships between Aboriginal people and Sea-Kin, with a focus on reawakening cultural practices and knowledge sharing in South Eastern Australia. This innovative research weaves together Science, Song, Dance, Language, and Story sharing, connecting Land, Sea, and Sky with Women’s Cultural and environmental practices.

Jodi Edwards, Walbanja Woman, from Yuin Nation with Dharawal Nation Kinship ties and Vice Chancellor Indigenous Research Fellow University of Wollongong

Dr Jodi Edwards, a Walbanja woman of the Yuin Nation with Dharawal kinship ties, is a Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Research Fellow at UOW and an Honorary Adjunct Fellow at RMIT. A renowned Story Sharer, sculptor, and creative arts practitioner, she has 30+ years of experience in Cultural Education, Aboriginal research, and preserving Indigenous knowledge.
