Ocean-themed Kinusaiga Workshop 2
Description
Kinusaiga (きぬさいが), often referred to as "Japanese silk painting" or "scrap patchwork," is a contemporary Japanese craft created in the 1980s by artist Maeno Takashi. It involves creating intricate images—such as landscapes or flowers—by pressing small scraps of fabric into pre-cut grooves on a backing material, typically wood or foam board. Because no sewing or glue is used to secure the pieces, the technique is highly valued for its clean, seamless appearance and its ability to repurpose leftover material.
