Ocean zine-making in the pub
Description
Come join the Waterways art-science collective and the MASTS Working Group on Migration and Energyscapes in Changing Oceans for an evening of zine-making and collage in a cosy pub, following day 1 of the 2026 Ocean Science Meeting in Glasgow.
Registration is free but space may become limited, so please reserve a spot. Drop in to Dram anytime between 7 and 10pm: we'll be in the back room. Unfortunately the kitchen will be closed, but you are welcome to bring food in, and drinks will be available at the bar. Non-scientists and non-conference-goers are welcome. Kids under 18 are welcome until 8pm (UK pub rules).
No experience or materials required, but if you have something you would like to slice up into a zine, bring it along! Our themes will be: • Mix up the land and the sea. • Mix up the very big and very small. • Mix up which creatures get looked at and which ones do the looking. • Imagine a new creature that migrates across the ocean: where is it going? Is it ever coming back?
We will also have a barter table set up for ocean-related outreach projects or crafts that you'd like to trade or give away (or sell, if you can figure out the logistics).
