Ocean with David Attenborough: Free Documentary Screening
Event description
This December, Park of the Month is featuring Encounter Marine Park and celebrating the wonderful diversity of life in our marine parks and their global significance in supporting healthier marine ecosystems in the future.
As part of the program, we have organised a free screening of the new documentary Ocean with David Attenborough at Victa Cinema.
While many in and around our coastal communities are feeling the impacts of the recent algal bloom, this event offers a chance to reconnect with the wonder and beauty of our marine environments and experience the hope that we can have for the future.
Film Synopsis
This is David Attenborough's greatest message of hope - revealing 100 years of incredible ocean discovery and why there's nowhere more important for all life on Earth than the ocean.
Co-produced by Silverback Films and Open Planet Studios, Ocean with David Attenborough showcases the wonder of life under the seas and exposes the realities and challenges facing our oceans as never-before-seen, from destructive fishing techniques to mass coral reef bleaching.
Yet the story is one of optimism, with Attenborough pointing to inspirational stories from around the world to show that the ocean can recover to a glory beyond anything anyone alive has ever seen.
