Join MaMuse for an evening celebrating the release of their seventh full-length album, This Is the Venue. More than just an album, it is a reflection of what it means to be human in this time. These songs hold space for celebration and grief, for the hard conversations and the healing that follows.

Wholeheartedly fed by the folk and gospel traditions, MaMuse blends rich vocal harmonies with upright bass, guitar, mandolin, flute and keys to create a sound that is as rich and varied as the emotions it explores. The evening will feature new music alongside beloved songs such as “We Shall Be Known” and “Hallelujah,” which have found their way into community choirs, weddings, funerals, birth rooms and gatherings around the world.

After two incredible decades of writing songs, touring and making music together, MaMuse continues to create concerts that invite connection, presence, and audience-inspired magic.

About MaMuse: (“Ma” as in Mamma, “Muse” as in the one who inspires)

MaMuse has spent nearly two decades building a devoted audience through unforgettable harmonies, exceptional songwriting and performances that leave listeners feeling more connected to themselves and one another. Led by Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker and joined by longtime touring collaborators Scott Elliott Ferreter and Nate Dittmer, the nationally touring folk-soul group brings together rich vocal arrangements, multi-instrumental mastery and songs that speak directly to the human experience.

Born from a creative partnership forged in Northern California in 2008, MaMuse draws from the folk and gospel traditions while creating music that feels distinctly their own. Their songs explore belonging, resilience, wonder, grief, joy and the beauty of being alive. Beloved originals such as “We Shall Be Known” and “Hallelujah” have traveled far beyond the stage, finding their way into community choirs, weddings, funerals, birth rooms, places of worship and gatherings around the world.

Since forming in 2008, MaMuse has released six full-length albums and toured extensively throughout the United States, performing at theaters, festivals, retreat centers, houses of worship and community venues.

About Samara Jade:

Samara Jade is a forest‑frolicking folk troubadour, multi-instrumentalist, and musical seamstress who threads together earthy grooves, soul-soaked vocals and thought-provoking lyrics into a genre affectionately dubbed “Philosopholk.” A natural-born "mugician," Samara’s first instrument was a set of pots and pans as a toddler — and she’s been making joyful noise ever since through voice and electric/acoustic guitars, mandola, banjo, piano and whatever she can get her hands on. Drawing inspiration from jazz, blues, Appalachian roots, Broadway musicals, and the wild whispers of nature, her music dances between play and depth —offering listeners both heartfelt medicine and clever mischief.

Born in the Hudson Valley of New York state, and shaped by the mountains and rivers of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state, Samara has been a grass-roots style touring folk musician for over a decade, spreading her songs all across this country and weaving and widening the webs of community, though she now mostly resides near Asheville, North Carolina.

Offstage, she carries songs and stories into deeper communal spaces — leading community song circles, nature-based singing retreats, and rites of passage journeys that guide people back to their voices, their bodies, and the land. She identifies as a “Song Doula” as well, guiding others throughout soulful processes of creating their own heart’s song.

Whether singing about compost or transformation, grief or gratitude, frogs or fungi, Samara invites all into a shared experience that is both grounding and elevating. Her music isn’t just entertainment — it’s soul-fertilizing, heart-healing, culture-composting and community-rooting work.
