October New Moon Meditation & Kirtan Newcastle
Description
This is the first gathering for our monthly New Moon events—a gentle space for meditation, sound healing, sacred music, shared food and community connection.
The new moon invites us into the fertile darkness: a time to turn inward, release what has passed and plant the seeds of a new cycle. Together, we will create a welcoming space where we can slow down, listen deeply and share our presence, voices, rhythms and gifts.
Each gathering will include:
Guided meditation — journeying through the chakras and into the deeper landscape of the soul.
Sound healing — carried by the sacred strings of guitar and the crystalline resonance of singing bowls.
Kirtan and community drumming — sharing mantra, melody and rhythm through voice, guitar, harmonium, drums and other instruments. You are welcome to sing, listen, bring your own drum or percussion or simply rest within the sound.
Communal supper — a nourishing soup will be prepared for everyone, and you are warmly invited to bring a food offering to share around the table.
No musical experience or particular spiritual belief is required. Come exactly as you are and participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
The gatherings will be led primarily by Dusty (Bhava), alongside Michelle and a changing circle of friends and musicians invited to collaborate and offer their own gifts.
This is a space for connection—with ourselves, with one another, with the Earth and with the mystery that moves through all things. Through meditation, music, rhythm and the sharing of food, we gather not only as individuals, but as a community.
We enter through stillness, listen within the darkness of the new moon and return through song. Like a seed beneath the soil, every new beginning first takes root in darkness before reaching towards the light.
Come sit, breathe, sing, drum and share supper with us.
