‘The Weight of Air: Movements for the Unspoken’
Next Gen Movers - costume making
This is an evocative new project for young adults (16+ up to 25yrs), presented by Albany Contemporary Dance and Albany Youth Support Association. Regular workshops are held on Tuesdays 11-12.30pm. This term we have been creating different sections of our dance and exploring themes around air and movement:
‘the weight of the world is on your shoulders’, ‘moving as light as a feather’
These holidays we start with a costume making workshop, discovering colours, textures, and reclaimed materials. We will be experimenting and discovering how to create a costume that fits in our theme. New participants welcome! No experience is needed, only openness. Supported by a youth worker and led by dance artist Sym, this is a space to make, and to be seen—where movement speaks what words cannot.
· Tuesday 7th October Next Gen Movers (16 - 25yrs) FREE costume workshop, 11 – 1pm
