Illuminate your senses with a program devoted to brilliance, colour and the uplifting power of music.

Saint Saëns opens the concert with his vibrant La Princesse Jaune Overture, a piece glowing with charm, brightness and youthful flair.

Haydn Cello Concerto follows as the joyful heart of the program, a sparkling and brilliant masterpiece filled with lyrical majesty, vibrant orchestral colour and moments of profound beauty, performed by the exceptionally talented Oliver Kim, who at only 9 years of age, performs with the WPO for the first time.

Rimsky Korsakov’s Symphony No. 1 concludes the concert with its energetic themes, vivid imagination and lively orchestral writing that sparkles throughout. Guided by returning conductor, Aija Draguns who first conducted the WPO in 2023.

This program invites the audience into a world illuminated by musical light in all its forms.

This concert will run for approximately 90 minutes including interval.
