What's with mannerism and architecture? Since the mid-twentieth century, architects have been fascinated by mannerism — though their preoccupation sits uneasily with mannerism's roots as an art history concept. Recent conversations have revisited earlier enthusiasts like Denise Scott Brown, Robert Venturi, and C. Ray Smith (author of Supermannerism), asking what the style reveals about architecture's recovery after the Global Financial Crisis.

Join us for an informal lecture exploring this theme within architecture, delivered by Andrew Leach (Queensland University of Technology), followed by a conversation with art historian Andrea Bubenik (University of Queensland).

Networking drinks to follow the discussion.
