Off The List + Out Hear present 'The Gig': a free live music performance for Disability Pride Month with support from Merri-bek City Council. This celebration brings together experienced and emerging artists from the disabled underground playing music filled with inventive vitality.
Come along for a free daytime gig that champions artistry, community, and disability‑led culture.
The gig features a stacked line up of local talent, including Rhys Renwick (Rhysics), Darlene (Marfalights Records), Robert Seamons, Lindsay Sutherland, Khaled Chahine, Ayub Hersi, Joyce Aiolupotea, Lucas Powell, Efe Can + more!
It’s a chance to experience new sounds, support disability‑led music, and show up as an ally: whether you’re part of the scene or stepping into it for the first time.
Friends and family all welcome - free and accessible to all.

Public transport
The venue is known on Google Maps as the 'Merri-Bek Music Hall'. The closest Trams are the 1, 6 and 96 trams.
Tram 96 has a level access stop. The venue is approximately 650 metres from the Nicholson St/Albert St stop and the journey is mostly flat according to Google Maps.
For Trams 1 and 6, the venue is approximately 300 metres from the Victoria St/Lygon St stop and the journey is mostly flat according to Google Maps. The Victoria St/Lygon St stop is not a level access stop.
Car Parking:
A small public car park is located directly off Cross Street. Surrounding streets (including Victoria Street and Albert Street) provide free on-street parking, though these may be subject to local time restrictions.

RHYS RENWICK
Rhys Renwick of the incredible band Rhysics will be making you cry and laugh maybe both with a solo performance.
DARLENE
Darlene Aaron is a prolific trans and disabled multidisciplinary artist who has released music through various projects in a wide range of genres both solo and in collaborations over a career spanning more than 20 years. She has released music as AA Matheson, Bison Grass, Boquillas, WE1 XAM, Jenny Hickingbotham band, and of course Darlene. Most recently she has been performing as Your Mothers Disgusting Window a misanthropic industrial sludge project with a revolving back up band of improvisers. Darlene has extensive experience in live performance, has booked local concerts, stage managed opera, and has organised and managed national tours. She has organised concerts in a variety of spaces, often taking joy in utilising unconventional venues like underground tunnels, haunted buildings, cinemas and Masonic lodges as well as traditional venues. In addition to performing, she has served as founder and curator of an accessible all ages concert series called SPACE. In these roles Darlene has built skills and experience in stage management, sound engineering and live multimedia design. Darlene is an ongoing contributor to Out Hear, sharing her experiences in a peer role and collaborating with other artists living with disabilities. She is the founder and an ongoing contributor to the co-op record label Marfa Lights which releases outsider and idiosyncratic music from all genres. https://marfalightsrecords.bandcamp.com/
OUT HEAR
Out Hear amplifies the vital and diverse voices in the community offering opportunities to develop, publish and share audio work. It is an invitation for individuals, organisations and the broader community to connect, to listen and be heard. This gig will feature some outstanding acts from the Out Hear community including Robert Seamons, Lindsay Sutherland, Khaled Chahine, Ayub Hersi, Joyce Aiolupotea, Lucas Powell, Efe Can + and many more.

OFF THE LIST
Off The List is a Naarm based, disability-led organisation established to create inclusive and accessible spaces for disabled people within the music industry. Off The List release music from artists, host accessible shows and build partnerships that allow disabled artists and audiences to connect and allies to grow.
