At The Forge, home of The Dire Theatre Company, we’re pushing the boundaries of live performance once again with OFF THE SHELF—a bold, experimental theatre experience where you decide what unfolds on stage.

Step into our very own private literature collection, the Gordon Streek Drop-In Library, and explore our collection of over a thousand plays and creative arts texts, and help shape the night’s performance.

The audience selects and then votes on which script will be performed that night, then casts the show from a lineup of talented actors waiting in the wings. With no rehearsal, no sets, and just the script in hand, the chosen actors will launch straight into an impromptu performance—raw, immediate, and completely unpredictable.

OFF THE SHELF is another unique, experimental piece from The Dire Theatre Company, and we invite all lovers of performance and literature to get involved.
