    Event description

A fun gig at a cool venue, starting early, finishing early(ish). Nice little Sunday sesh to start off the silly season. Pretty easy way to support a good cause.

“Offbeat" is a Parkinson’s Disease fundraising and awareness concert designed to support improved treatments, enhance quality of life, and help find a cure! All ticket sales, food sales and raffle ticket sales, go to Parkinson's Australia and the Shake It Up Foundation.

Playing classic pub rock tunes are local bands Embers and The Good Things followed by “Perth prodigy”, Mitch Santiago!
There'll be food, drinks aplenty, and cool things up for grabs.

Before the music cranks up we’re recording a podcast live with Renegade's founder, Hannah Moltoni; her brother, Leigh, who was diagnosed with Young Onset PD at 29; and Parkinson's Australia's CEO, Olivia Nassaris. But never fear! The point of Offbeat is to leave you uplifted (and obviously, pumped from all the great music) not bummed out. So come early to catch them, it'll be interesting and they're actually pretty funny.

Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurological condition globally. In Australia, it's the second most common neurological disease, impacting over 150,000 Australians - a number projected to more than triple by 2050. Despite these numbers, funding, awareness, and support for PD remain shockingly low. The need for them has never been greater and is only increasing.

Young Onset Parkinson’s affects 10–20% of those diagnosed, some as young as their 20s. We need to move away from viewing it solely as an "old person's" disease aim for treatments that accommodate younger sufferers as well as the elderly, all while continuing the search for a cure.

While funds for research are vital, raising public awareness is just as crucial in improving the quality of life and mental health for people living with PD.

Grab some tickets and be part of a movement that's changing lives one beat at a time!
