Official Reopening of Loyalty Square, Balmain NSW

Join us for the unveiling of the memorial walls at Loyalty Square

Inner West Council invites you to the official unveiling of the memorial walls at Loyalty Square in Balmain.

This special ceremony will mark the unveiling of new memorial walls commemorating an additional 196 local servicemen from Balmain, East Balmain and Birchgrove who lost their lives during World War I.

Their names were identified through extensive historical research undertaken in partnership with Inner West Council, Sydney Secondary College, the Balmain-Rozelle RSL Sub-Branch, and the Balmain Association.

The service will feature a wreath laying followed by light refreshments.

This forms part of broader improvements we delivered at Loyalty Square to ensure it remains a welcoming space that can be enjoyed by the whole community, while preserving its significance as a place of reflection, remembrance, and respect.
