Description

Oh My Godot - a fundraiser to support Castlemaine's own The Ravens Theatre Company - proudly supported by the Bridge Hotel, Castlemaine

Help bring the Ravens Theatre Company to life by attending a great rock and roll extravaganza!! The cast are somewhat musical and thought it would be unfair to NOT let them have at least one night of rock and roll shenanigans...

...So, featuring the talents of ARIA Hall of Famer, You Am I legend and frontman Tim Rogers, the band will present a classic lineup of musical delights. Cast members Gus Read Hill, Tim Heath and Luke Lennox will be joined by Michael "Fabio" Vickers from seminal local cover band Smokers Run Faster to round out the group with a rakish and raffish tone.

And...warming up the evening's frivolities Tim Rogers will present a bracket of his best loved tunes, all on his lonesome. What a treat! Proudly supported by the good folk at Bridge Hotel Castlemaine!

Why YOU should support The Ravens Theatre Company:

Our second production, Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, will be presented at the Phee Broadway Theatre in Castlemaine from 18 September 2026.

Directed by acclaimed theatre-maker Janice Muller, the production brings together an exceptional regional cast: Ravens co-founder Tim Heath, Gus Read-Hill, Luke Lennox and You Am I frontman Tim Rogers as Pozzo.

One of the most influential plays of the twentieth century, Waiting for Godot is funny, moving, challenging and enigmatic. Through two people waiting for someone who never arrives, Beckett explores friendship, hope, uncertainty and our search for meaning.

The production follows the extraordinary response to The Ravens Theatre Company’s inaugural season, The Seagull, which attracted more than 1,800 audience members. This demonstrated a strong appetite for ambitious, high-quality theatre in Central Victoria.

The Ravens is a not-for-profit theatre company established to create professional performance opportunities for regional artists and give local audiences access to significant theatrical works without needing to travel to Melbourne.

We work through a collaborative profit-share model. After production costs are met, remaining production income is shared among the participating cast and creatives. This allows us to bring together experienced artists while working towards a sustainable model in which their contribution is recognised and rewarded.

Our productions also create paid work for people across the wider regional creative community, including photographers, graphic designers, theatre technicians and other local production professionals. Wherever possible, we engage people who live and work in Central Victoria, ensuring that support for The Ravens flows back into the local arts community.

As a new company, we are seeking donations not only to help us stage Waiting for Godot, but to build the capacity and stability needed to continue producing professional theatre in Castlemaine. Support will help us strengthen the company, employ regional artists and creative workers, develop future productions and establish a sustainable professional theatre presence in the region.

The result will be a season of eight performances, and another important step towards ensuring ambitious theatre can be created in regional Victoria, by regional artists, for regional audiences.
