Join me for a wonderful day of Oil Painting.

We'll explore oils from the very beginning:
Part One of the Workshop:
- Materials
- How they work
- Brief colour theory
- Mixing Paint
- Composition
- Tonal studies
- Exploring personal style/ development
We'll complete a number of studies and exercises to get us ready for part two.

Part Two:
- Complete a still life study
- How to clean up after oils and protect materials.

Today is about filling your 'toolbox' with applications and techniques to take into your own personal oils practice. Once you have the foundations, you gift yourself the ability to open up a whole new world of paint! Oils are vibrant, rich and buttery, and most artists to try them almost never go back to acrylics, they are a lot of fun.

*Oil paint can be chemically harsh and even toxic, we will be avoiding all lead, and cadmium based oil paints. Latex gloves will be provided and are highly recommended for those with sensitive skin or who have not use oils before. Plastic aprons are also available, though it is recommended that you wear old clothes, or clothes you are happy to have paint on, it is part of the charm.

Students will need to bring their own materials and supplies.
A list of these supplies will be provided or a kit can be pre-purchased for an additional $60. I will contact each student upon purchase of ticket to discuss any art supply needs and to make sure I can assist you in getting the most out of your day!

We will be having a lunch break, there is a cafe downstairs (The Timbermill, Cafe) or a number of food options/cafes within a 5 minute drive.

Refunds can be made two weeks prior to the event. Unfortunately due to the limited numbers in this workshop no refunds will be made thereafter.
