The Braidwood & District Historical Society warmly invites you to our cemetery tour at the Old Braidwood Cemetery, Cowper Street, Braidwood.
Step into Braidwood’s Past
A guided walking tour through the historic cemetery invites you to wander among weathered headstones and uncover compelling stories of pioneers, families, tragedies and triumphs that shaped our town.
Your guide may be a Victorian widow, an Edwardian hostess, an undertaker, a policeman or even a bushranger — bringing history vividly to life.
Registration
You must Register to book your place.
Meeting Point
Meet at the eastern end of Cowper Street at the Cemetery Information Board, between Rows 7 and 8
Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled 10.00 am start.
What to Wear & Bring
Enclosed walking shoes (the cemetery has uneven ground in places)
A bottle of water
Weather-appropriate clothing
Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses
Umbrella if rain is forecast, or for shade if hot
A small folding stool or chair, for anyone who may like the option to sit during the tour—just keep in mind it will need to be carried between sites.
A portion of the proceeds goes towards the restoration of the cemetery headstones
