Olive Hill Records present: Wet Towel Flagellation Album Release Show
Description
Doom metal quintet Wet Towel Flagellation are pleased to share their eponymous debut album, with details of a headline gig in Coventry in January.
Recorded at the Warwick Arts Centre during one of 2026's most enduring heatwaves, this album is one of the most ambitious releases from a student band to emerge from the West Midlands in years.
The bookend track, The Cosmic Law, samples the polemics of Catholic activist Bill Donahue against the album's critique of guilt and fear in institutional religion.
Featuring artwork by band members Celyn Jones and Elijah Grimes, the imagery of Coventry's religious history accompanies this album's exploration of faith through pain.
Alongside the album, Wet Towel Flagellation will be performing at the Tin Music and Arts Centre in Coventry on Saturday, January 30th 2027. Their performance, as a part of Independent Venue Week, will be one of few opportunities to hear the album live in its entirety.
Wet Towel Flagellation is available on Cassette, CD, LP, and Streaming.
