Olive picking and preserving

This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

Join the regular participants at Willowview Centre in Collingwood to help pick olives and then join the group to learn how to preserve them. To recognise your efforts you'll get to taste some of last year's olive oil and help the centre participate in this year's Olives to Oil festival

Last year Willowview staff and volunteers picked 26kgs of olives from the tree at the building's entrance, as a result Willowview got 2.6 litres of oil to share with their participants.

Willowview Centre is a Commonwealth Home Support Programs (CHSP) funded social support group, offering social and recreational programs and activities for older adults 65+ in Yarra. Our programs and activities are planned by professional staff members in consultation with group participants. We aim to strengthen participants’ physical and mobility levels, increase mental stimulation, while socializing and meeting other people.
