Event description

In June 2020, Oliver received a grant to move to Georgia to learn Georgian and write his debut fiction book, however Covid derailed his plans.

In August 2021, Tilly prepared a book launch for her critically acclaimed debut novel Nothing But My Body, however Covid derailed her plans.

Now that we are able to gather again, Oliver Mol and Tilly Lawless invite you to a night of storytelling. Oliver will read a new story from his forthcoming book Train Lord before he departs to Georgia forever, and Tilly will read from her unflinchingly honest debut, followed by a short Q&A.

The readings will last for thirty minutes. The space will be intimate. There will be an intermission. Tilly will be signing and selling books. The night will be special.

---

Oliver Mol is the author of Lion Attack! (Scribe Publications). He was the inaugural winner of the Scribe Nonfiction Prize for Young Writers, and is a 2020-2022 Marten Bequest Scholar for Prose through the Australian Council for the Arts. His show Train Lord enjoyed a sellout season at the 2020 Sydney Fringe and received a Best Theatre Award at the 2020 Adelaide Fringe. His forthcoming book Train Lord will be published by Penguin Michael Joseph in June 2022.

---

Tilly Lawless is a queer, Sydney-based sex worker who utilises her Instagram Tilly_lawless to speak about her personal experiences within the sex industry. Growing up in rural NSW, her writing is often a bucolic love letter to the countryside that she comes from, and also a deeply intimate insight into queer romance and relationships. Her debut novel Nothing But My Body was published by Allen & Unwin in 2021.
