Singer-songwriter Oliver Downes blends refined piano-playing with instantly hummable melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Adorned with ‘soaring melodies and sharp wit in equal measure’ (Tone Deaf), his music offers lush fusion of dreamy ballads and warmly familiar chamber pop. He returns to Open Studio one last time with a deeply personal collection forged in the long winter of Melbourne’s covid lockdowns reflecting on love, loss and family. Expect something intimate, heartfelt and sincere.

Mel Taylor forged her sound in Victoria’s High Country, possessing a compelling voice and lyrical knack for storytelling that is authentic and inherently Australian. Shortlisted for the Folk Alliance “Young Performer of the Year Award” in 2020, the alt-folk songwriter joins forces with Isaac Gunnoo on double bass.
