Olives to Oil Festival Westside
Description
Join us in celebrating another successful Olives to Oil season — a community-driven program that transforms locally harvested olives into fresh, delicious extra virgin olive oil. Whether you participated in the olive collection program or simply want to enjoy a great day out, everyone is welcome to attend this free community festival.
What to expect
Enjoy a range of activities, demonstrations and experiences throughout the day, including:
Live music and entertainment
Food and coffee trucks
Olive pressing demonstrations
Wreath and crown making
Community stalls and plant sales
Free gardening workshops with Scott Hitchins, My Smart Garden, CERES and Eat Grow Garden. Whether you’re new to gardening or looking to build your skills, these short practical sessions will cover easy ways to propagate plants, grow from seed, care for fruit trees and try grafting at home
11:00am – 1:00pm – Olive Pressing demonstration
11:00 – 11:30 – Family-friendly propagation
11.15am-12pm –Pruning fruit trees
12:30 – 1:00 – Growing plants from seeds
12.30-1.15pm – Grafting fruit trees
1:30 – 3:00 – Olive Pressing demonstration
Event registration
Festival attendance is free. We encourage you to register so we can plan appropriately and ensure a great experience for everyone attending.
Collecting Your Olive Oil?
If you participated in the Olives to Oil program and are collecting your oil on the day, you do not need to register for the festival. Oil collection bookings are managed separately. Please follow the instructions provided in your collection email to book your preferred collection time.
You are warmly encouraged to stay and enjoy the festival before or after collecting your oil.
Olive Drop-Offs Have Now Closed
Please note that all olive drop-off events for this season have now concluded and no further olive collections will be accepted until next year.
If you missed the opportunity to contribute olives this season, we would still love to see you at the festival to celebrate with the community and learn more about the program.
