Event description

OMNIBUS is a multichannel ambisonic system designed for sensory and immersive sound experiences. Live performance is where the power of multichannel configuration enables all kinds of creative choices. Immersing the audience in a 360-degree sound field, they are invited to engage more actively with the audio environment. This setup allows for dynamic movement within the space, as sound can be positioned and manipulated to create unique auditory perspectives.

After a successful first show in the middle of winter this year. We come back for another iteration, with a selection of established and emerging performing Artists and the distinct ambience of the Norla Dome. Artists have been given the tools to manipulate sound Live on the OMNIBUS Ambisonic system, closely collaborating with technicians to elevate concepts into the 360 field.

Artists for this iteration:

InKāla is a new transmedia creative collective committed to experiences that transcend boundaries. Drawing upon a rich tapestry of cultures, employing a multidisciplinary approach that merges cutting-edge techniques at the forefront of art, design, and technology. For this iteration we will be exploring sensory wavelengths and imprinting: incorporating lighting, lasers and colour theory, showcasing the potential for deep synesthetic integration and immersion with ambisonic audio.

Punko creates music that is rich and hypnotic through layered synths and vocal repetition. Drawing on pop, ambient, post-punk and electronic soundscapes: exploring a lo-fi approach to dance music in their production and performance. Their latest body of work explores the spectrum of isolation and connection, fertile new-life energy and experiences near the ocean.

Tangerine is a versatile and boundary-pushing producer, DJ and composer based in Naarm. She weaves beautifully complex sounds into her constantly evolving palette of trance, IDM, ambient and techno. She brings together a multiplicity of approaches in her work, challenging her audience to feel the chaos amongst the delicacy and to embrace the beauty of contradiction.

is an Ethiopian-Australian sound artist, vocalist and live coder. Her work explores non-western musical traditions, improvisational performance and Afrofuturism spanning across ambient, jazz, RnB and electronic using the program Sonic Pi. Live coding is the real-time programming of code to generate sound and/or visuals.
