Part III: Collecting Now, with Winnie Chung
In our final session, journalist Winnie Chung turns toward the present and future of collecting. Drawing on her experience in global media, she explores how digital culture and social media are reshaping what, and why, we collect. From the rise of playful contemporary objects to viral trends such as the Labubu phenomenon, this talk considers how meaning, value, and desire are shifting in a rapidly changing world.

Winnie Chung is Editorial Director of Specialist Publications at the South China Morning Post. With more than two decades of experience in magazine and newspaper publishing, she has held senior editorial roles across leading titles including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, and Harper’s BAZAAR.
Her work spans print and digital media, with a focus on cultural storytelling, lifestyle, and contemporary trends. She brings extensive experience in shaping editorial narratives and engaging diverse audiences across the evolving media landscape.
