On-Farm Composting for Rural Property Owners

Rural property owners can make lots of high quality, affordable compost right on their farm when they ask City to Farm to help. City to Farm comes with the food scraps, compost containment and biochar.  They help layer these materials up with woody mulch provided by the property owner.  This workshop explains the different ways of building on-farm compost piles--swaling, Johnson-Su, SPICE and layering. The advantages to using biochar and bokashi in this process is also explained.
