  • A minimum upfront payment is required to secure your order. This includes a surcharge, a non-refundable cancellation fee, and a refundable deposit.
  • You’ll receive a notification before each payment attempt. You must ensure sufficient funds are available.

On Track Description

On-Track is a six part programme of training sessions. These workshops will cover key information to help your community group or not for profit organisation ensure it is on track to success. This training will be ideal for board or committee members, managers or sole employees who may have taken on a new role and others who would simply like to be re-energised and refresh their knowledge.

One session will be offered per month from May to October. Each month will be covering a different topic: Funding – Governance – Communications – Finance/Legal – People Management – Future Proofing. The sessions are planned as an overall suite of learning and groups are encouraged to participate in all six.

The workshops will be held in the Woodend Community Centre on Friday mornings 9.00am to 12.30pm, see below for specific dates. Morning tea will be provided.

Priority registration is for organisations participating in all six sessions. The fee of $100 includes up to two people per organisation for all six workshops. The individuals representing the organisation may change per workshop. Per session registrations will be opened two weeks prior depending on availability of spaces.

Session One: Sustainable Funding - 21 May 2021

Developing a funding strategy - building a sustainable income - donor documents - social enterprise. Led by Rachel Thornton

Session Two: Governance and Management - 11 June 2021

Strategic planning – Roles – Stakeholder relationships. Led by Adam Hutchinson and Rachel Thornton

Session Three: Financial and Legal– 9 July 2021

Internal financial control –fraud protection – legislation updates - Privacy & Inc. Soc. Acts. Led by Community Capacity Accounting and Community Law

Session Four: Communications and Marketing – 13 August 2021

Developing a communication plan – websites – social media – guidance document. Led by Gina McKenzie, Real Communications

Session Five: People Management – 10 September 2021

NGO dynamics, Boards/Volunteer/Staff – Volunteer agreements and appreciation –Inductions. Led by Waimakariri District Council and Volunteer Canterbury

Session Six: Future Proofing - 8 October 2021

Health check – Succession planning – Reviews – Evaluations - Funding reports – Changes challenge/opportunity - Sustainability. Led by WDC Community Team
