Event description


Learn about the Health and Safety duties and responsibilities of volunteers and volunteer organisations. This includes:
• Introduction to H&S
• Legal obligations and liabilities
• Understanding and managing risk in volunteer situations
• Emergency response
• Engaging and involving your volunteers in H&S
• Induction of volunteers.

This workshop is led by Geoff Brokenshire. Geoff is a graded member of the New Zealand Institute for Safety Management (NZISM) and has had many years operating within the health and safety arena through a wide range of industries including: forest products, paint, roofing products, government science, tanning, construction, veterinary and human health product manufacturing sectors. Geoff is a registered health and safety professional with the Health and Safety Association of NZ.
