On Track - Incorporated Societies Act

PLEASE NOTE: the venue for this workshop has been changed. It will be held in the Rangiora Town Hall, function room.
This workshop is an introduction to the new Incorporated Societies Act. The previous Act dates back to 1908.The new act is intended to make societies more robust and govern more effectively.
Participants will gain an understanding of what incorporated societies will need to do, along with practical suggestions to help groups comply with the new law.
This workshop will be led by a member of the legal team from Community Law Canterbury/Te Ture Whānui o Waitaha. Community Law Canterbury has operated a specialist legal service for community groups for over 20 years, providing legal support and information to local community groups.
This training is ideal for those who are either:
- managers of an incorporated society, or
- those who are on the Board or Committee of an Incorporated Society.
