MAPBM Presents 'Once Upon A Time, Long Ago and Far Away: Blood' with Fiona Davies
Event description
For our next MAPBM Seminar we are very pleased to present Once Upon A Time, Long Ago and Far Away: Blood with Fiona Davies at RoseyRavelson Books, 1 Badgery Crescent Lawson at 6:00pm on Wednesday 26 February 2025.
Davies is an Australian visual and performative artist/researcher whose practice is a trans disciplinary and cross community collaborative investigation into the systems, materials and processes of interpersonal, inter-systemic relationships in situations of crisis. She is particularly interested in power relationships within the practice of medicine. Davies will present on the long term project Blood on Silk, followed by a new performative lecture work.
This session is open to the public as well as MAPBM Members, but book early as places are limited. This will be a fascinating presentation relevant to everyone involved in contemporary art but in particular to artists involved in making site-responsive work. Your ticket price includes a donation towards one free drink and light refreshments at the seminar.
Host: Modern Art Projects Blue Mountains (MAPBM) is a not-for-profit incorporated association that supports contemporary, multi-form art in the Blue Mountains. MAPBM also aims to foster an independent environment that supports the development and practice of contemporary artists and curators and to engage with the wider community in developing a new critical agenda for contemporary art. This is the third in our occasional seminar series that MAPBM commenced in 2024.
