If you lead an organisation focussed on creating change in the world, you probably find that too much of your time is spent keeping the show on the road - delivering, firefighting, supporting people. Right?

The things which would actually move your organisation forward (new income, partnerships, team development, new systems) keep sliding to the bottom of your list.

Not because they don’t matter - because they have no deadline attached, there’s no accountability - so they just don’t happen.

And because so much about our environment is chaotic, when you finally get the space, you’re likely to get sucked into something more urgent.

What to expect

Stories: We’ll ease into this session with session hosts Jane Bruce and Claire Carpenter sharing their own experience of waiting for a crisis to force the issue (because that’s usually how it goes!)
A Tool: We'll explore a simple way of thinking about where your time goes
Thinking Time: You'll have space to reflect on where you might shift your time and attention to really move things forward
One Big Team: An opportunity to hear how others are tackling the same thing and to share what you think (if you want to, there’s no pressure to share).
Takeaways: You’ll leave having named what you’re avoiding and a short plan for getting that thing done.

What is One Big Team?

One Big Team exists because creating change in the world is really freaking difficult.
It can be a lonely old road but there are other people out there working with great intentions, and we’re making more difference together than we often realise.
We’re actually One Big Team when you think about it.
So the goal of these sessions is to create a small pocket of time for you to think, be inspired and to face down your challenges in the company of other people like you, working to make change happen.
If you’re looking for a shot of inspiration, practical ideas to tackle your challenges, and good company as you work for change, join us.
Come as you are, whatever kind of day / week / month it’s been. You are welcome.

Is this session for me?

Brilliant Leaders supports leaders who put making a difference in the world at the heart of their work and organisations. So if that sounds like you, this session is for you!
We work with leaders involved in social or environmental action across charities, social enterprise, public sector, education sector and mission-driven business.
We prioritise working with community leaders underserved by mainstream leadership development.
We take an anti-racist approach and offer inclusive learning based on our decades of developing and leading community organisations, charities and social enterprises of all shapes and sizes.
We have created One Big Team as part of our efforts to widen access to leadership development.
