The workshop will be delivered by Decision Supported Services and is funded by National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIS).

About the Workshop

This interactive online workshop will cover the following topics:

  • What is supported decision making

  • Where does it come from

  • Why is it important

  • Who is it for

  • AND how do we do it

About the Presenter

Jenny Smith

Jenny has worked with marginalised and vulnerable people in aged care, disability services, mental health, youth work, and emergency services. She has also been actively involved in voluntary community service, particularly for organisations that focus on social justice and community building. Jenny practises Supported Decision Making as a key part of her extensive background as a disability advocate, supporting people to make their own decisions about their own lives. She does this by helping people to understand information, consider their options, and communicate their choices, based on the person’s own will, preferences, and values.
