Art Therapy - Boundaries & Connection

Wednesday 11 November 6pm - 7:15pm

The aim of these Art Therapy Festive Offerings is to support participants in preparing for and navigating the holiday period through creativity, reflection and practical tools. These offerings will focus on building flexibility, self-compassion, boundaries and connection, rather than directly focusing on food or body image.

These art therapy offerings will combine practical therapeutic concepts with creative exploration and reflection. Activities may include drawing, visual mapping, colour, symbols, words and metaphor.

Offering 2 - Boundaries & Connection

Focus: Relationships, boundaries and support.

Exploring personal boundaries, navigating challenging interactions and recognising the people and resources that can support us during the holiday period.

No art experience is needed - just a willingness to express yourself, show up, share and create in a way that feels comfortable for you.

Each offering will be facilitated by Alex, a qualified art therapist (see bio below), and co-facilitated by an EDV staff member.

Who can join?

Participants need to be 18 years of age or over, currently experiencing an eating disorder and be connected with a GP. Participants must read and acknowledge the engagement agreement when registering.

Do I have to attend all 3 Art Therapy Festive Offerings?

Each offering will be designed to stand alone and offer participants something useful to take away into the holiday period. Participants can attend one, two or all three offerings.

What materials do I need?

Paper, pens or pencils, with optional coloured pencils, textas, crayons or any other art materials participants enjoy using at home.

All offerings will be accessible with minimal materials, and participants will have flexibility in how they engage creatively.
