IPART is holding an online workshop on 21st September 2021 for the review of how we regulate the water businesses. The focus will be on our proposed framework, which would involve grading the business’s proposals against the principles of Customer focus, Cost efficiency and Credibility (our ‘3Cs’ principles), in order to:

Motivate all businesses to submit proposals which focus on maximising long-term value to customers
Tailor the design of the regulatory framework to the maturity, sophistication and innovation shown by the business
Streamline the regulatory review process.

It will also touch on other elements from our third Discussion Paper, including our proposed 6 year determination periods and improvements to the expenditure review process.

The online workshop will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions and comment on the proposed framework.
