- BUT WILL HE FIND HIS WAY TO HIS PARTY WITH YOU?
Join Jenesis - The Whale Woman as she reads this most exciting and enjoyable short story. Aimed at 3-6 year olds, it introduces children to the ideas of self trust, self reliance, self belief and self confidence.
Here's a summary of what the story is about:
IT’S WILBUR THE HUMPBACK WHALE’S BIRTH DAY AND WE ARE READING HIS STORY AT HIS PARTY YOU'RE INVITED TO.
He is hoping to find his way back to Australia in time for his birthday party with his favourite Australian friends.
Excited to see all his friends and to celebrate with them, Wilbur The Whale is worried and a bit scared about making the journey all the way from Antarctica to the warm waters of Australia, where he was born. He is going back without his mum by his side this time.
He believes he has forgotten his way, but his friends assure him that he hasn't forgotten the way and that if he trusts himself and his inner guidance, he will remember. In learning to trust himself more, he activates his inner “Super Powers” - intuition, gut instinct and cellular memories that have been passed down from his Ancestors, who have all taken the same life journey as him, for Centuries.
They all say, in their different and special ways:
“Trust yourself Wilbur,
As your ancestors know,
When you connect to wisdom within,
You will find your way home.
Be calm and breathe deep,
And in that calm mind,
The direction you seek,
Will be easy to find.”
Does Wilbur learn to trust himself and make it back to Australia, and to his birthday party in time?

This delightful and colourful children’s story is a journey of discovery about self belief, inner knowing, gut instinct and ancestral cellular memory. Just like many adults who lose their way in life at times (myself included), this story helps reaffirm for children to remember to trust themselves. And it’s also a positive message about self confidence that can be used as they grow up and in to adult life. (And there’s nothing wrong with adults loving and learning from this book too.)
I encourage all of us to remember to have confidence and trust in ourselves. Jen xo
