Redefining Reconciliation: Reflecting on your Role

This forum builds on the key messages shared by Dewayne Everettsmith at the 2025 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast. The session will focus on truth telling and the importance of understanding our own truths as leaders within our workplaces and communities, and how these perspectives shape the way we lead reconciliation in practice.

Participants will hear practical ways to bring their organisations along their cultural learning journey, strengthening understanding, accountability, and meaningful action rather than symbolic gestures. The discussion will provide practical reflections and ideas that leaders can apply within their own teams and organisational contexts.

This will be an interactive session. Participants will be encouraged to watch Dewayne’s powerful and deeply personal address from last year’s Breakfast in advance, as it will form an important foundation for the conversation.
