Protective Behaviours Workshop
Event description
The Workshop runs over two days Wednesday 2nd July and Thursday 3rd July 9:00am to 3:00pm and lunch will be provided. This project aims to implement Protective Behaviours training in Onslow, including a "Train the Trainer" component. Protective Behaviours is a personal safety program designed to teach individuals, especially children, skills and strategies to identify and respond to unsafe situations. The training will empower local trainers to deliver the program sustainably within the community.
After the training sessions, a collaboration with the community will be implemented to create a place-based book specifically for Onslow on Protective Behaviours. This book will incorporate local stories, experiences, and cultural contexts to make the content more relatable and impactful for the residents of Onslow. The book will serve as a valuable resource for ongoing education and reinforcement of the Protective Behaviours principles within the community.
