Op for Change x AYH + MoWaNa Community Evening

Op for Change is a registered charity that donates 100% of its profits to local and community organisations. Avalon Youth Hub and MoWaNa Safe Space have been two of our featured charities and our community evening is our official presentation to acknowledge and support the work of these two incredible organisations. Your host and MC for the evening will Op for Change ambassador Miranda Fair, who will also perform a few of her classic songs.

Avalon Youth Hub is a free youth mental health and service hub that brings together a collaboration of services to Avalon. They were established in 2018 and offer free counselling, case management, and a range of activities, events and workshops that respond to the needs of young people aged 12-24. Their vision is to create a strong Northern Beaches community that can find help when needed. Their support services include KYDS Youth Development Service, Mission Australia Northern Sydney, Headspace Brookvale, Lifeline Northern Beaches, KALOF, Northern Beaches Council and The Burdekin Association. 

MoWaNa Safe Space is community-based service to support people who are experiencing emotional distress. MoWaNa (which stands for Mona Vale, Warriewood and Narrabeen) provides a ‘drop in’ style place that offers a non-clinical alternative, with a warm and welcoming environment. It is staffed by Peer CARE Companions (PCC) who have either had their own lived experience of suicide, have supported someone else in crisis, or who have been bereaved by suicide. This means they are better able to connect with others through the mutual understanding that comes with meaningful shared experience.

This will be our last presentation at 199 Pittwater Road, so we'd love to share this event with our community and customers over light refreshments and there'll be an opportunity to Sip and Shop throughout the evening.
