OPAL EVOLUTION FESTIVAL
Event description
OPAL EVOLUTION
FESTIVAL is a new grass roots community art and culture initiative, in Andamooka, South Australia. Conceived by local artist Leila Day, its annual series of creative workshops and yearly festival is being developed in partnership with leading SA arts organisation and OSCA - Open Space Contemporary Arts. It aims to grow in size and scale to become a nationally recognised community arts festival when Andamooka hosts the International Opal Symposium in 2027.
Come along and take part in this new and exciting regional festival of light, projection, visual art and a community parade that brings outstanding local and regional SA artists and community together to create a series of artistic outcomes that focus on the unique opal fields, the towns history, opalized fossils, ecological formations and its rich palaeontological connections of the area when it was once the inland Eromanga Sea over 100 million years ago.
THIS IS A FREE ALL AGES EVENT.
